When do I need to register for a French WEEE registration?

You need the French WEEE/EPR registration as soon as you plan to sell electrical and electronic products in France, whether through your own webshop or online marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, or Kaufland. It’s mandatory for all companies placing products on the French market that fall under the EPR legislation.

You need it in the following situations:

Selling electrical or electronic devices in France: As soon as you sell products like phones, laptops, household appliances, etc., you must comply with the WEEE registration.
Selling via online marketplaces: Platforms like Amazon or Cdiscount will ask for your French EPR/WEEE number before allowing you to list products on their platforms in France.
Storage in France via Amazon FBA or other fulfillment services: If you’re using fulfillment services operating in France, like Amazon FBA, you will also need a WEEE registration.
